A Message of Thanks:
I would like to express my thanks to the people of Poway for their support during this election. Mary and I, along with the members of our team, got to talk to so many of you, and we learned so much about what you were thinking. I was humbled and honored that so many of you cast your vote for me.
We chose to live here twenty-four years ago, and our experiences confirmed why we live here and hold this place so close to our hearts. Everyone we met believes this city is a great place to live and wants to help make it even better.
I congratulate Merrilee Boyack on her well-deserved re-election. I know all of us wish her a complete recovery. I congratulate Jim Cunningham on his election. He brings many talents and great enthusiasm to his new post, and I look forward to helping him and the Council to the best of my abilities. I thank Howard Collins for the things I learned from him. He is also a talented and enthusiastic man.
I am proud of the fact that we all ran positive campaigns, for we all believe that is the best way to meet the challenges the future brings us.
I have been encouraged by my supporters to run again in two years, and we have decided that’s what we’ll do. Thanks again to you for your support and good wishes!
Sincerely,
Chuck Cross
