Biography

I moved to California in 1977 and have been in the landscaping business in San Diego County since then.

I have owned my own business for twenty-six years, twenty-four years as a resident of Poway.

Community Service:

Poway Youth Sports Association 1988-2000.

Sports Subcommittee 1990-1996.

Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee representing Councilmember Jay Goldby 1996-2004.

Projects included the Dog Park, Fee Studies, Sports Fields Needs Assessments, Arbolitos Park, Aubrey Park, and Skateboard Park.

Poway Youth Soccer League Board Member 1988-2000.

Poway-Midland Railroad Volunteers, Inc. 1992-present. Chairman of the Board- 1994-present, with over 5,000 hours of service.

Military Service:

U.S. Coast Guard, 1970-1974. North Atlantic Ocean.

USCGC Owasco; Homeport: New London, CT.
Vessel performed Ocean Station and Search and Rescue assignments.

USCGC Alert; Homeport: Cape May, NJ.
Vessel performed Search and Rescue, Fisheries Patrol, International Ice Patrol, Marine Law Enforcement. Served as an Engineering Petty Officer.

 

Mary Cross:

Served on the Poway Budget Review Committee 2007, 1999, 1991-1994

Poway-Midland Railroad Volunteer and Treasurer 1992-Present

Volunteered on numerous sports teams in Poway for children: baseball, soccer, and diving.
